Today we’re continuing our Challenge Series as we look to help entrepreneurs with specific questions as you grow your business.

Today I’m answering a question from TELUS Facebook fan Jason Fonseca from Ryze.

Jason asked: “Thanks, Evan! Okay, so…I’m currently in the middle of repositioning my brand & tweaking my sales process. I’m aiming to connect with ambitious, creative ‘financial types’ — analysts, brokers, lawyers, etc. — who’re looking to ryze up to a new level. It’s an unfamiliar niche for me, but I’m learning fast. I’m new to TelusBusiness and I’m wondering if it can help me somehow connect with this type of people? Any suggestions?”

Jason, starting a new business or going after a new market is tough, scary, and requires you to push yourself beyond your comfort zone.

When I was 19 and starting my first “real” business I had to bring in sales from a market I had never been close to: scientific researchers.

Here were my fears: I was half their age, most of them weren’t in my city, and I had zero science background (I dropped science as soon as I could in high school).

It’s scary, but possible and if I could do it, so can you.

Here are 3 suggestions to help you:

1. Hang out where your customers are

2. Partner up with connectors

3. Be the expert
