  1. Carry a schedule and record your actions, activities and thoughts for a week. This will help you see how much time is used productively and how much is wasted.
  2. Assign a time block for important activities.
  3. Plan to spend 50% of your time on the activities that produce results.
  4. Schedule time for interruptions.
  5. Plan your day at the start of every day.
  6. Take 5 minutes before every task to decide what outcome you want to achieve.
  7. Put up a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign when you have to get work done.
  8. Don’t answer the phone just because it’s ringing or answer emails just because they arrive in your in-box.
  9. Block out Facebook and other social media during your productive time.
  10. Remember that it’s normally impossible to get absolutely everything done but 80% of your results will come from the best 20% of your efforts.
